Students pursuing a college degree face many challenges in and out of the classroom. For students in California, the cost of living (housing and food) have continued to rise, while the aid available to them has stayed relatively consistent, making the resources inadequate for their needs. Recommendations are provided for policymakers to improve the situation for low-income students, as CSU and UC institutions have broadened their support efforts.
